One company that stands behind their product. I had several scratches when received and they sent touch up paint next day to me. I have used steel climbers and after getting this one, it is so nice to climb. Light, well built, roomy and simple. All safety equipment supplied and if you never used a climber or are a long time user, wear the proper safety gear. They push to make sure you are using the safest equipment and they supply it. So be safe, have fun, and make Summit Viper your choice.

The most enjoyable, quiet climbing stand I have ever used. A hunting buddy had bragged on his for years but I already had two climbing stands so I put up with them. Finally decided at 64 years of age to quit climbing until I tried his in my back yard. It was easy to put on the tree, light weight and simple. I now climb most of the time and can stay in the stand most of the day, the seat is so comfortable it is like being in my recliner.

The only negative I found was the way the top and bottom pieces fasten together while climbing, I tied a rope to a bottom corner on one side so that when I climb I flip it over the top and then tie it to the other side of the base. This allows me to leave the carry straps attached to the stand at all times.

This stand is a great product. Thanks Ted

This stand performed better than I had hoped. It was light and easy to climb with. Once in the tree the seat and upper portion were very comfortable while I was a little disapointed at the size of the lower portion. I wish I had one that was a little bit longer or stuck out more. I have always had a stand that faced the tree and had plenty of room for my feet, this one, being that it faces away from the tree just didn’t give me enough room for my feet.

The strap system to carry on your back was a little awkward and a better system could be used but I will replace it with something after market or of some time of milspec.

Overall I love the tree stand and would recommend it to anyone.

Most of all I got it for $30 less than anywhere else a week before Christmas from Amazon! I also asked for regular shipping and it arrived in two days, way to go Amazon!

My hunting experiences go way back to the days when Baker treestands were at the leading edge of deerstand technology. I have owned several climbing and hang-on type stands in the years I have been deer hunting. My son purchased a Viper SS for himself and one for me. My family thinks at 63 I shouldn’t be 25′-30′ up a tree. My son gave me a Viper SS to calm everyone. I feel this is the ULTIMATE complement for Summit products. This stand is relatively lightweight, quiet, and very stable. {It ALMOST makes you not want to wear a harness!:) } I only wish Summit and others would cover their seats with material that is both quiet and waterproof. Treat your stand seats/armrests with waterproofing to keep your bottom dry going to stand after a rain/snow thaw!
